The Children’s Mental Health Matters Coalition, a group of parents and professionals dedicated to promoting children’s mental health, is teaming up with community partners throughout Wisconsin for a youth poster contest. Creating artwork is one way to support the development of children’s social emotional health. The theme of the poster contest is My Feelings Matter. The contest commemorates National Children’s Mental Health Awareness week in May and highlights its importance all year round. Teachers, parents and caregivers may use this activity as a way to encourage youth to create art about their feelings and to conduct age-appropriate conversations about the importance of mental health.
